Make Your Backyard a Bird Sanctuary
Program:
Learn how to transform your yard into a sanctuary for birds. By providing food, water, and a sustainable habitat you can attract our feathered friends. We will discuss the use of vegetation, native plantings, water features, and other elements that can attract and create a comfortable environment for birds.
Presenter: Chris Petherick
Chris Petherick is a life-long bird enthusiast and owner of the Wild Birds Unlimited Nature Shop on Black Rock Turnpike in Fairfield. Chris developed a love of watching, feeding, and learning about birds as a child from time spent with his mom, as well as regular outings to the Audubon Center in Western New York. As an adult, he honed his identification skills through many hours on the trails, in pursuit of one more warbler. Chris and his wife, Sue Shunta, now live in Easton, CT, after having spent much of the past 25 years in Milwaukee, WI.
Please note: Garden Club holds a general meeting in advance of the presentation for members only at 11:30. Door open to the Public at 12 Noon
